Captain Billy's Fishing Report

Nance with her Permit
|
Captain Billy filed this report this week from Boca Grande where they are at the start of the Tarpon season.
"We fished our first tournament of the year and was in First Place the last 2 1/2 hours until we got nipped at the end and finished in second place.

Billy reports that he is fishing for Tarpon in the morning and spending the afternoons fishing for Permit.
Billy and his webmaster Mark, went out Wednesday morning looking for Tarpon. According to Mark, they saw lots of Tarpon rolling across the surface of the Boca Grande Pass and all the boats were doing the tarpon dance across the water, but the sport fish were just not in the mood to play. Later in the day they went further out and chased some Permit and had a great time. Mark's wife Nancy (shown above) pulled in a beaut that supplied dinner for all the crew that evening.
Captain Billy noted that he still had some open dates in June if anyone is interested in the supreme chase for Tarpon and it appears that they will be running longer this summer and they expect strong fishing over the next two months and into July. To schedule a charter, call 1-877-FLA-FISH
